Green DIY
This is a collection of Green Environmental Do-It-Yourself cleaners that are environmentally friendly, for Green Inside, Green Outside, and Energy capture projects. The section will grow as new and interesting Green projects that improve the environment are identified or discovered. Each of the section and presentations will be attempted and some comments provided on how the actual items worked.
Home based remedies that you can create yourself

Drain Cleaner
|
- 1/2 cup salt - boiling water |
Pour salt in drain the flush with boiling water. Run hot tap water until clog clears.

This is not good for serious clogs but has helped with monthly applications.

Toilet Bowl Cleaner
|
- white vinegar - baking soda |
Sprinkle Toilet bowl with baking soda, then spray vinegar. Scrub with a toilet brush

Let the bubble sit for a bit and plan on some elbow grease.

Copper
and Brass Cleaner
|
- vinegar - salt |
Dissolve 1 part salt to two parts vinegar. Soak till shiny. To use as a scrub, increase salt to make a paste and scrub your little heart out!

I have used this on brass items, and it does work.

Laundry Detergent
|
Equal amounts: - washing soda - borax |
Mix/Use just like laundry detergent
|
not bad. DO NOT use in HE machines. |
